Firefox OS gets a nice visual walkthrough

We've only seen little bits and pieces of Firefox OS so far, but since the emulator has come out, we're getting to see quite a bit more. A lot of new screenshots are out which are giving a much more complete idea of the platform and what it offers.

The OS is looking pretty interesting in the limited bits we're seeing, and we're definitely excited to see it on some real devices soon. So, let's jump into a visual walkthrough of the OS.

Firefox OS

1. Lockscreen

The lockscreen is what you'd expect with a simple slider to unlock or launch the camera.

2. Homescreen

A very sparse homescreen with a launcher bar.

3. Dialer

Standard dialer with easy access to contacts.

4. Quick settings

The notifications shade, which is similar to Android, also has quick settings toggles, including a setting to toggle Do Not Track directly.

5. Settings menu

The full settings menu is pretty clean.

6. Gallery app

The gallery app looks pretty standard. We're hoping for some visual flare in the animations here.

7. Maps

The maps data in Firefox OS is provided by Nokia.

8. Messaging

Again, not a lot of color in the messaging app, so we're hoping there is a theme option or something here.

9. Radio

It looks like there will be a radio tuner built in.

10. Everything.me

This is one of the more interesting features, which is Everything.me (also available for iOS and as a beta web-app for Android), which pulls together apps and websites based on what you're looking for.

11. Space game

There is a game available in the Firefox simulator that it similar to Galaga or Space Invaders.

12. Twitter

Twitter looks much like its Android or iOS counterpart, which means we're already hoping for a 3rd party alternative to show up for Firefox OS.
