Apple Passbook will be accepted at 13 MLB ballparks this season

We just heard that Samsung wants to get into the ticket hub wallet app game with Samsung Wallet, and now it turns out that Apple's iOS ticket hub, Passbook, is getting marginally more useful this year. Word has it that Passbook's MLB ticketing system is going to get a big expansion and be accepted in 13 ballparks this season. If you're a baseball fan, that's a significant upgrade from the 4 ballparks that had accepted Passbook tickets before, but if you're not a baseball fan... well, we wonder why you would bother reading this news if you're not a baseball fan (and iOS user).

So, the original four ballparks that accepted Passbook tickets were Fenway (Boston Red Sox), Citi Field (NY Mets), AT&T Park (SF Giants), and Kauffman Stadium (KC Royals). This season, Passbook tickets will also be accepted at Camden Yards (Baltimore Orioles), Wrigley Field (Chicago Cubs), Comerica Park (Detroit Tigers), Miller Park (Milwaukee Brewers), Target Field (Minnesota Twins), Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum (Oakland Athletics), and PNC Park (Pittsburgh Pirates).

That still makes up less than half of the MLB stadiums in the US, but it's good to see the number increasing.
