Analyst reconfirms Samsung might equip the Galaxy S IV with Snapdragon chipset

Piper Jaffray analyst Gus Richard slipped a confirmation in a note to clients that Samsung might indeed have trouble outfitting the Galaxy S IVwith its Exynos 5 Octa chip, and is considering a Qualcomm swap, as we've heard before.

When there's smoke, there's fire, and, frankly, with less than a month before the official announcement, we doubt Samsung will be changing course from whichever chipset it's picked for production, and all leaked benchmarks so far point to a Snapdragon-outfitted Galaxy S IV, or whatever Samsung's 2013 flagship gets named. Here's the analyst's quote:

We believe Samsung’s Galaxy S4 has slipped and the Galaxy S3 has been in production a quarter longer than expected. We believe the S4 is being delayed primarily due to power issues with the company’s eight-core Exynos Octa […] we believe the company is likely to shift more to external sources. We believe QCOM will pick up more of Samsung’s S4 business.
