6.1 inch Huawei Ascend Mate can now be pre-ordered for $575 USD

The Huawei Ascend Mate and its humungous 6.1 inch screen can now be pre-ordered from a Chinese retailer named Liaow Meizu Shop. The price is $575 USDand the handset is expected to ship in a month. The 6.1 inch screen does NOT come with a FHD resolution which means that the pixel density, at 241ppi, trails the 441ppi on the 5 inch Huawei Ascend D2. With a massive 4050mAh battery inside, you might not ever have to worry about whether or not your destination has an outlet to plug your phone into. As a comparison, the hefty power generator on the Motorola DROID RAZR MAXX HD is 3300mAh.

Pre-order the Huawei Ascend Mate for $575 USD
With 73% of the handset made up of its display, and at 9.9mm thick, the Huawei Ascend Mate isn't bulky. And the Magic Touch screen allows those wearing gloves to use the phone in cold weather. Have small hands? The dialer and portrait QWERTY can be minimized to allow for one-handed use.

You might remember that Huawei CEO Richard Yu displayed the Huawei Ascend Mate at a Huawei store back in December, an act similar to the recent public display of the HTC M7 made by HTC CEO Peter Chou. What is it about CEO's and their flagship phones? Anyway, with the Samsung GALAXY Note III rumored to weigh in at 6.3 inches, and the recently leaked Sony branded 6.44 inch panel that was pictured, the Huawei Ascend Mate might seem puny before the lights close on this month's MWC at Barcelona.
