Ubuntu teasing touch-based OS announcement, coming in mere hours

Ubuntu is probably the most popular Linux distribution, but while that’s great it is still struggling to find mass adoption. A touch-based version of the operating system might be a big step toward such bright future, and that’s exactly what should come soon.

On its official website, Ubuntu teased "So close, you can almost touch it.” An announcement, which will obviously be about a touch-optimized Ubuntu, is coming in around 10 hours.

A touch version of Ubuntu would be good news for smartphones and tablets, but while we expect an announcement today, don’t get your hopes high for a launch too soon. It seems that the project is still in its early stages.
