ZTE Grand S to be revealed at CES, 5 inch screen and all

ZTE Grand S to be revealed at CES, 5 inch screen and allThe CES 2013 website has let the cat out of the bag, or should we say the smartphone out of the bag. The site reveals that the ZTE Grand S will be introduced January 8th between 1:30pm to 2:30pm during the convention. This is going to be quite a device for the Chinese manufacturer with a 5 inch full HD display (1080p). In fact, this is supposed to be the world's thinnest 5 inch 1080p model. The phone is made out of ceramic and features "traditional Chinese style."

There is some speculation that the ZTE Grand S is related to the ZTE Nubia Z5 model that we have been seeing much of lately. The ZTE Nubia Z5 is expected to be equipped with a 5 inch display offering 1080p resolution, and a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro under the hood. 2GB of RAM and a 13MP rear-facing shooter continue the high-end specs parade for the unit. The device is said to be just 7.6mm thick. All of it dovetails with what we know about the ZTE Grand S.

With the ZTE Nubia Z5 expected to be launched soon in China, we might find out then whether it is a variant of ZTE's new flagship as it appears to be. Now that the OEM has made its mark on the industry, we should expect to see more top-shelf models from the manufacturer. And for those stateside already smitten with the ZTE Grand S or the ZTE Nubia Z5, hopefully one of the models, or another variant of the Grand S, makes the trip to the U.S. We're inclined to see this as a strong possibility if ZTE wants to keep the position it earned during the third quarter as the globe's fourth largest smartphone manufacturer.
