Thanks to a leaked ROM from October meant specially for Belguim, news has come out that the Samsung Galaxy Pocket Plus is on its way to Europe. Said to be an entry-level phone, the only thing known about the GT-S5301 is that it will come with Android 4.0.4 on board. What we can do is take the specs from the GT-S5300, the Samsung Galaxy Pocket, and perhaps get a clue of what to expect with the "Plus" version of the phone.
The Samsung Galaxy Pocket is equipped with a generous 2.8 inch screen with QVGA resolution (240 x 320) which translates into a pixel density of 143ppi. A single-core 832MHz processor powers the device and there is 3GB of native storage that can be expanded with the use of a 32GB capacity microSD card. The 2MP camera in back captures video in QVGA at 15fps. A 1200mAh battery powers up the whole shebang. While Android 2.3.6 comes on the GT-S5300, the fact that the GT-S5301 comes with Android 4.0.4 is a good indication that the Samsung Galaxy Pocket will eventually get an ICS update.
Besides the GT-5300 and the GT-S5301, there is the GT-S5302 which is the Samsung Galaxy Pocket Duos. This phone sports the exact same specs as the Samsung Galaxy Pocket except that it supports the use ofdual-SIM cards. If past is prologue, we could see a faster processor and an improved battery on the Samsung Galaxy Pocket Plus. When the Korean manufacturer introduced the Samsung Galaxy S Pro last year, it was the same phone as the Samsung Galaxy S but with a faster processor and a higher capacity battery.
