The numbers indicate strong demand for apps on the Windows Phone 8 platform.You might recall that lack of a strong applications marketplace was one of the reasons why the Palm Pre didn't take off following an exciting introduction at CES 2009.
If more developers are inspired to write for Windows Phone 8 by the possibility of financial gain, it could help the Windows Phone Marketplace close the gap between it and the Apple App Store and Android flavored Google Play Store.
