The Samsung Galaxy Note II, a 5.5-inch crossover device between a phone and a tablet, is getting a newer and fresher flavor of Jelly Bean. The Galaxy Note 2 launched with 4.1 Jelly Bean, and while it is not yet ready for the latest of JB, version 4.2, it is gearing up to get Android 4.1.2. At least, that is the name of the version of the latest leaked ROM.We still do not have the full list of new features, but what we do know is that the update brings a neat ink effect when you unlock the device. It looks as ink is spilled and you can pick the color. The effect can be applied to all wallpapers except live ones. Also, the notifications toggle in the dropdown now includes the multi-windows mode.

Now, we have to stress that this 4.1.2 update is not yet official. You can download it at the link below, but you’d better back up before starting experimenting with it, and just be cautious and if not perfectly certain wait for the official update to arrive.
