Wal-Mart to begin selling US Cellular phones and services

Wal-Mart to begin selling US Cellular phones and servicesUS Cellular will offer post-paid services in more than 460 Wal-Mart stores all over the United States. The large regional carrier will increase its visibility and hopes to build better relationships through this arrangement.

US Cellular has a decent phone line-up including the Samsung Galaxy S III and the Samsung Galaxy Note II. The carrier also offers a rewards program where subscribers accumulate points which then make them eligible for upgrades. Depending on how involved you get, you can reach an upgrade in as little as 13 months on a 2-year agreement.

"We look forward to showing Walmart customers that a better relationship with their wireless carrier is possible by providing the best customer experience and treating our customers like neighbors, not numbers."

The carrier also has smartphone data plans that range from 300MB to 10GB. Any customers that activate or upgrade through Wal-Mart are eligible to begin earning rewards points right away and customers that sign-up for autopay and paperless billing are offered up to a 5% discount on their bill.

While not as large as the “Big 4” carriers, US Cellular has generally maintained a reputation for great customer service. The CDMA/EV-DO carrier has been rolling out LTE and will have about 60% of its network covered by the end of this year.
