Even though we know that Microsoft has an event scheduled for October 29 – an event to celebrate the launch of Windows Phone 8, pre-ordering the first smartphones running it might be possible prior to that date. Or at least that is what an anonymous tipster shared with The Point Maza yesterday. The source claims that AT&T will start accepting pre-orders for the Nokia Lumia 920 and the HTC Windows Phone 8X on October 21. Supposedly, the smartphones will be available in retail stores some day in early November, meaning that pre-orders should have started shipping by then.
But wait, there's more! The Samsung Ativ Smart PC and the Asus Vivo Tab RT will also be made available for pre-order on the aforementioned date – October 21. If the tipster is to be trusted, their launch is scheduled for only a few days later – on October 26, to be more specific.
Unfortunately, we have no way of confirming the credibility of this rumor, meaning that it is too early to circle the dates we mentioned in your calendar. Just sit tight for now, folks, and be patient as an official word on the matter should come relatively soon.
