HTC One X+ hands-on
After it spent a whole lot of time stirring up some much-needed competition, it’s fitting that we finally got our chance to check out the next iteration of HTC’s popular flagship – the HTC One X+ that’s coming to AT&T in the very near future. Just looking over its specs sheet and all, there’s no arguing that it’s a workhorse in every aspect, which is what we’d expect out of a device bearing the One X moniker of course. Interestingly enough, however, some people believe that this new handset is what the original HTC One X for AT&T should’ve been from the onset.
Visually speaking, it’s nearly an exact facsimile, but internally, the HTC One X+ packs along an upgraded quad-core 1.7GHz NVIDIA Tegra 3 processor combined with good ‘ole 4G LTE connectivity, larger 2,100 mAh battery, and a whopping 64GB of RAM. Now that’s one extensive overhaul, wouldn’t you agree? Well, don’t forget to check out some of the things that really stood out from our initial look at the behemoth.
HTC One X+ initial standouts
1. Same overall design, but now with a soft touch finish.
In terms of design, the HTC One X+ maintains the same recognizable design as before, which is pretty much expected, however, the model that we’re checking out flaunts a smooth looking black soft touch finish. No doubt it’s a sharp contrast over the all-white original model, but nevertheless, we’re digging its clean looks and smooth finish.
2. It’s fast, really fast!
If you don’t know by now, this monster is bringing along a quad-core 1.7GHz NVIDIA Tegra 3 processor coupled with 1GB of RAM – resulting in one peppy performance with our initial look. Having a graphically intensive homescreen experience, it’s comforting to know that it’s maintaining a quick performance with all things.
3. Lots of internal storage
Continuing to shows its worth, we’re absolutely thrilled to know that the HTC One X+ is packing along a sizable 64GB of internal storage, which is unbelievable considering that the One X offered a measly 16GB of storage. Therefore, it’s certain that you’ll have enough storage to save all your multimedia content without worries.
4. Lovely display as usual
Even though it’s featuring the same display as before, a 4.7” 720p Super-LCD 2 screen, it’s still one of the handset’s biggest starring attractions. Aside from its monster size, it’s simply the sweet, sweet glow of its Super-LCD 2 panel that continues to capture our attention. Yes folks, it’s the same lovely warm tones as before!
5. Yup, Beats Audio is in tow again
And finally, for the music lovers out there, they’ll surely appreciate the HTC One X+ will deliver one mind-blowing audio experience – thanks primarily to Beats Audio support and app. Well, let’s hope that its internal speaker will also be able to bring the goods as well, aside from the wired experience.
