A leak from multiple sources reveals that BlackBerry plans on offering an entry-level BlackBerry 10 handset sometime this summer. The phone will resemble a miniature version of the BlackBerry Q10 with an attached physical QWERTY keyboard. Dubbed the "R-Series," the phone will have two side slots, one for a micro SIM card and one for a micro SD card. The BlackBerry Bold 9000 offered a side slot for a microSD card so while this is a look that is rare for the Canadian manufacturer, it has been done before.

The entry-level 'Berry will include 8GB of native storage, an 1800mAH battery and pricing is expected in the $300-$400 area sans contract. CEO Thorsten Heins has said that he expects to offer BlackBerry 10 models for the high, middle and low end of the market. Recently, the executive hinted that he was excited about a high-end BlackBerry 10 model due out by the holidays.

A person testing the entry-level model has drawn a sketch of the device. This person has signed an NDA and could not offer a photo of the phone.
