Is a fix coming for the Nokia Lumia 920's dust problem?

While the Nokia Lumia 920 has not single-handedly advanced the Windows Phone platform to the heights that the Motorola DROID did for Android back in 2009, it has helped Windows Phone in the battle for third place with BlackBerry. Known for taking great pictures and videos, the phone is also becoming known for something else: dust. Apparently, dust is settling under the phone's front-facing camera and the proximity sensor. This can lead to dropped calls and could prevent users from punching up phone-related menus.

According to a source, Nokia does have a solution that not only will help new units of the phone, but will also help those models currently in use. The design flaw is being repaired by using a sheath that will be fitted around the front-facing camera and the proximity sensor. This way, the dust is kept away from the sensitive sensors. If the tipster's information is correct, while the sheath will appear on newer units out of the box, those who already own the phone will be able to run over to their local Nokia repair service and have the sheath applied. 

There is no word on when Nokia will start offering the sheath, but keep your eyes right here. As soon as we know, you'll know.
