Apple's WWDC sells out in two minutes to set a new record

Apple sold out its 2013 World Wide Developer Conference in only two minutes on Thursday, setting a new record. Last year's show sold out in a bit under two hours. The difference could easily have been in the announcement Apple made on Wednesday, that it would start selling tickets for the conference Thursday at 1pm. It was the first time that Apple ever gave a heads-up as to when the tickets to WWDC would go on sale. In just 120 seconds, the tickets were all gone.

Developers who missed out on getting tickets do have an opportunity to view the video of each session as they occur, not weeks later as in the past. And this year, we are looking forward to seeing iOS 7 unveiled at the event. Unlike previous iOS updates, iOS 7 is expected to bring a newly revamped UI to the platform.

During the earnings conference call, Apple CEO Tim Cook said, "We've got some really great stuff coming in the fall and across 2014." WWDC 2013 will take place in San Francisco from June 10th through June 14th at Moscone West.
