The Wi-Fi only version of Sony's top of the line tablet, the Sony Xperia Tablet Z, has just visited the FCC. That confirms earlier reports that the tablet is already ticketed for a trip to the states. Like the Sony Xperia Z smartphone, the Sony Xperia Tablet Z is both water and dust resistant. The tablet is equipped with a 10.1 inch screen LCD screen with 1920 x 1200 resolution and 224ppi pixel density. Under the hood is a quad-core 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro APQ864 processor with an Adreno 320 GPU. 2GB of RAM is on board. 16GB/32GB of native storage can be expanded using the microSD slot on the tablet, which is powered by a 6000mAh battery. An 8.1MP camera rear-facing camera is included with the slate, which runs Android 4.1.2 and is just 6.9 mm thin.

The Sony Xperia Tablet Z has already launched in Japan with the next stop being Europe. A summer launch in Canada could point to a U.S release around the same time. Last month, Sony revealed U.S. pricing on the tablet, which will be available in both black and white. The 16GB model in either color is $500 while the 32GB model will cost you $600. The Wi-Fi only version will be available in the states with a future LTE model coming only to Europe as of now.
