U.K. court rules that Apple did not infringe on Samsung patents

Samsung is used to losing to Apple in the court of law. This time, a U.K.court ruled against Samsung in a patent infringement lawsuit, and gave Apple the victory. The difference is that with this case, it was Samsung that had charged Apple with infringing on patents that Samsung owned. The court's decision means that Apple was exonerated on each of three claims filed by its Korean rival.

The case involved three patents relating to the processing and transmitting of 3G data. After the decision, Samsung said it was disappointed in the ruling. "Upon a thorough review of the judgment we will decide whether to file an appeal,"said Samsung. Apple refused to comment on the decision.

You might recall that last year, a U.K. judge ruled that Samsung could not have infringed on Apple's patents with the Samsung Galaxy Tab because that tablet was not as cool as the Apple iPad. As a result, Apple's request for a sales ban on Samsung's tablet was denied.
