Samsung sues LG in Korea for “tarnishing its corporate image”

Samsung Electronics has filed a lawsuit against LG Electronics in Korea’s Seoul District Court for a series of ads that have allegedly “tarnished its corporate image.” The advertisements contained wrong information, according to Samsung.

It all adds up to an existing legal feud between Samsung Display and LG Display, and in this latest case Samsung is looking for 50 billion won (some $45 million) in damages.

The display lawsuit is ending as lastly LG dropped its request for a domestic sales ban on the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1. The display feud started with Samsung kicking off legal actions over LG products based on its OLED screen tech.

This latest ad controversy started over refrigerators last year as LG wrongly claimed in an ad that it has produced the one with highest capacity.
