Samsung Galaxy Pop adds orange color option to snag the kids in Korea

We weren't in the boardroom when Samsung decided that it would be a great idea to take the Samsung Galaxy Premier, bump up the dual-core silicon to a quad-core 1.4 GHz Exynos 4412 processor, shove Android 4.1.2 on the device, and call it the Samsung Galaxy Pop in Korea. Nor were we on the golf course when Samsung decided that it would be great to add an orange color option for the phone. We could just imagine the back slapping and laughter all around the links when the executives realized that orange would be the perfect color to get those Korean kids to go wild for the phone.

Orange you smart for wanting the Samsung Galaxy Pop?

Hey, don't get us wrong, there is a lot to like about the Samsung Galaxy Pop. The 4.65 inch Super AMOLED screen, the aforementioned home grown quad-core processor, 8MP camera on back and a 2MP shooter up front, and the 2100mAh battery powering the unit all makes this a delectable device. We already told you that Android 4.1.2 is doing the heavy lifting, so that means features like Project Butter and Google Now are on board. Samsung features include Smart Stay, which keeps the phone's screen on until the front-facing camera determines that you're asleep, S Beam for quick file and media swaps, PopUp Play which lets you move around a video anywhere on the screen while you multitask, and more. The Samsung Galaxy Pop does offer 4G LTE connectivity as well as a television tuner.

The Samsung Galaxy Pop will be available in 8GB and 16GB models with a free Flip Cover. It will be offered in Korea by SK Telecom, KT and LG U+. No pricing or launch date was revealed.
