It might feel a little creepy, like a stalker who just won't give up on a prey. Nokia has raised the stakes on its attempt to woo Facebook owned Instagram with its#2InstaWithLove campaign. The Finnish handset manufacturer is trying to get the photo-sharing social network to build a version for Windows Phone which would allow users of its Nokia Lumia line to use the popular service. First came the app and now comes the use of banner ads to really move the campaign into a higher gear.
The banner ad is designed to get more Windows Phone users to sign up for the #2InstaWithLove app. The app uses the Polaroid filter on a photograph you take and automatically puts the #2InstaWithLove hashtag on it while posting it to a social network of your choice. The idea is to show Instagram developers how badly Nokia users want the app to be made available in the Windows Phone Store.
But this all might be moot. A screenshot of the Windows Phone Store allegedly revealed that the app will be coming to the platform this May. In addition, a Nokia Lumia 620 being advertised in Portugal apparently included Instagram on a Live Tile. Instagram is currently available for iOS and Android. Once it became available in the Google Play Store last April, 50 million Android users signed up for it over the first 6 months.
