Motorola X is the Motorola NXT; blurry image and rumored specs leak

With the Samsung Galaxy S 4 about to be introduced on Thursday, we can't blame the Android world for focusing on a phone that could sell more than 100 million units. But there are still a large number of Motorola fans that have been eagerly waiting for information on the Motorola X. This is expected to be the first phone to be a true collaboration between Motorola and its corporate parent Google and the possibilities seem endless.

The latest rumor about the device is that it will be called the Motorola NXT and will be equipped with a 4.7 inch FHD display, which works out to a 468ppi pixel density, the same as the screen on the HTC One. The phone will be powered by the quad-core NVIDIA Tegra 4i which is said to be as powerful as the top of the line Qualcomm Snapdragon 800, but at half the size. A 16MP camera will be on the back and the front-facing 5MP camera will also track your eye movement to control scrolling on the screen, similar to the new feature that will be on the Samsung Galaxy S IV. The dimensions, at 131.2 x 66.7 x 7.9 mm, would make the device slightly smaller, and thinner than the Motorola DROID RAZR MAXX HD.

We have to take this all with the proverbial grain of salt, although this would seem like the perfect time for Motorola to leak out some information to get some of the spotlight off the Samsung Galaxy S IV. We do expect to see Google and Motorola bring this beast out at Google I/O, possibly with Android 5.0 installed. Excited yet?

UPDATE: Unfortunately, the image has turned out to be a fake, which is why we caution you to take stories like this with a grain of salt. As we get closer to Google I/O, we should start to see some leaked images of the Motorola X from more legitimate sources!
