BlackBerry 10 app catalog grows to 100,000 apps, Kindle and OpenTable launch today

BlackBerry has let us know that its BlackBerry World catalog has just passed the 100,000 apps mark. While that number is still far from what the iOS and Android stores are offering, it's still a remarkable achievement that comes to show that BlackBerry is serious about BB 10.

In addition to the milestone, BlackBerry has also announced that some major apps have just become part of the catalog: Kindle, OpenTable and Wall Street Journal. What's more, the company promises that the catalog will become home to titles like CNN, The Daily Show Headlines, eBay, eMusic, Maxim, MLB at Bat, MTV News, Pageonce, PGA, Rdio, Skype, Soundhound and Viber in the coming weeks.

The first handset to make use of the BB 10 platform, the BlackBerry Z10, is expected to become available on AT&T, Verizon and T-Mobile as soon as this month, while the QWERTY-enabled BlackBerry Q10 should grace the shelves of Verizon, Sprint and AT&T, also this month.
