A Windows Phone 8 text messaging bug has been discovered. If you compose a text message by voice and then edit it, a second recipient is added automatically. Actually, what happens is that the Surname of the original recipient of the message appears as a second recipient of the text, but with no text number. Thus, when an attempt is made to send the text, it comes back with an error message. It should be pointed out that the device that this bug was found on is a Nokia Lumia 920 with the portico update, running over AT&T's pipeline.
The person who discovered the bug, named Todd, has come up with a workaround. Going to "Settings" and then "Applications" and then "people" will bring up the people setting. Changing the setting "Display names by" to First, Last from Last, First will fix the problem. Another solution is to delete the last name of the recipient from the "to:" field before you send out a text message.
Let us know if you have experienced this problem, and if the workaround is taking care of it for you. You can send us a comment in the box below.
