Nine Inch Nails To Return In 2013

Trent Reznor announces NIN will tour the U.S. this year, ending a four-year hiatus.

Nine Inch Nails waved goodbye in 2009, with a farewell tour that spanned the band's entire career. Of course, as we know these days, there reallyare no final farewells, and on Monday (February 25), NIN mastermind Trent Reznor announced that the band was back.
"Nine Inch Nails are touring this year," Reznor said in a statement. "I was working with Adrian Belew on some musical ideas, which led to some discussion on performing, which led to some beard-scratching, which (many steps later) led to the decision to re-think the idea of what Nine Inch Nails could be, and the idea of playing a show. Calls were made to some friends, lots of new ideas were discussed, and a show was booked ... which led to another, which somehow led to a lot of shows."
Reznor added that the current incarnation of Nine Inch Nails will feature Belew, Eric Avery, Alessandro Cortini, Josh Eustis and Ilan Rubin, and said they'll launch their comeback with a handful of shows this summer, "followed by a full-on arena tour of the U.S. this fall, and lots of other dates worldwide to follow through 2014."
There was no word on new Nine Inch Nails music, but recently, Reznor has said that he'd been working on a handful of songs.
In the four years since he shelved NIN, Reznor has remained busy, scoring films (and winning Oscars) and launching How To Destroy Angels, a brand-new sideproject with his wife and longtime collaborators Rob Sheridan and Atticus Ross. The band will release their debut disc,Welcome Oblivion on March 5.
