The mid-range Sony model once known as the "Hua-Shan" has, as you probably already know, turned out to be the Sony Xperia SP. Now, we have new information on the phone from a source considered by the Xperia Blog to be trustworthy. While Sony is not planning on hosting a press conference at next week's MWC in Barcelona, we are expecting to see the Sony Xperia SP on display at the show.
So what is the 4-1-1 about the device? The Sony Xperia SP is expected to be equipped with a 4.6 inch 720p screen and be powered by a dual-core 1.7GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro MSM8960T processor. The Adreno 320 GPU handles the graphics. 8GB of internal memory is aboard although that can be expanded with the use of the microSD slot. On back of the handset is an 8MP Exmor RS camera. All four sides of the phone are said to be constructed from aluminum, but the back will be made of plastic.
One interesting note. While the Sony Xperia SP will offer a smaller screen than the Sony Xperia ZL, the former weighs 4 grams more (155 grams) than the larger sized model.
