Does HTC have an Ubuntu tablet up its sleeve for tomorrow's event?

An image released by HTC in advance of its press event on Tuesday, shows around 12 devices covered by cloth. One of the devices underneath the covering appears to take the shape of a 10 inch tablet. That means that besides the expected introduction of the HTC One, we could see the Taiwan based manufacturer step up to the plate swinging a tablet as well as a top-shelf phone.

Is that a 10 inch tablet or are you just happy to see us?

The HTC One is expected to wield a 4.7 inch FHD display, resulting in an industry leading 468ppi pixel density. But there seems to be more going on with this handset as images from HTC have hinted at stereo speakers and an outstanding camera using "Ultrapixels" on the phone.

What about the image of the tablet? Could HTC be planning on revealing an Ubuntu powered tablet? As far fetched as it sounds, the timing would seem to make it possible, if not probable. As we told you on Monday morning, Canonical is expected to introduce the Ubuntu OS optimized for slates, tomorrow. A countdown timer on the site happens to end just when HTC's even is slated (pun intended) to start.
