Boingo expands its Wi-Fi services into airports in Japan & Germany

If you’ve flown in the last several months and tried looking for Wi-Fi hotspots in any of the handful of airports through the country, you might be surprised to see one name that’s constantly popping up – Boingo Wireless. Always expanding their reach, Boingo has shown us that they’re not afraid to go outside of the box to expand their premium Wi-Fi services. Interestingly enough, some of the subways in New York City are offering Boingo’s services!

This time around, though, they’re moving aggressively by targeting the international market. Considering they’re a staple in many airports across the US, it’s only natural for them to make the move into other international airports. Specifically, they’ve recently secured agreements to manage and operate Wi-Fi services in a number of airports situated in Japan and Germany. As it stands, the listing currently consists of the following locations:

Japan airports:

• Haneda Airport (Tokyo International Airport) (HND)
• Narita International Airport, Tokyo (NRT)
• New Chitose Airport, Sapporo (CTS)
• Fukuoka Airport (FUK)
• Chubu Airport, Nagoya (NGO)

Germany airports:

• Berlin-Tegel (TXL)
• Nuremberg (NUE)
• Stuttgart (STR)

Therefore, the next time you find yourself traveling to any of those locations, you can be assured to have plenty of reliable Wi-Fi service – even more when international cellular data can be pocket busting on its own. Although the service isn’t available at the moment in the aforementioned locations, it’s gearing up to launch sometime during spring 2013.
