After a long delay, Twitter client Carbon is now available in the Google Play Store

Last July 16th, we told you that Twitter client Carbon was ready to launch the following week. Well, we are happy to report that the app has launched. Of course, it is February so it is almost 7 months late. Originally a popular webOS app, the demise of the Palm Pre and the Palm Pixi left the developers in a bad way because they were charging $2.99 for the app and the Google Play Store did not support the developer's home country (United Arab Emirates) for paid apps. Shortly afterward, plans to offer an iOS version of Carbon were scrapped with the developers going all-in on Android. The second delay followed in July with the hope that Google would eventually allow paid apps from the region (which they did not) and now Carbon is available in the Google Play Store as a free app..

Screenshots for Carbon
Carbon describes itself as "simple," and "dark." Everything is on one page so that Timelines, Lists, Favorites, Searches, Trends and Profiles can all be reached without having to go from menu to menu. Tilt the Timeline to refresh the app, and you can power scroll to the top or bottom by swiping using two fingers. Tap and hold on tweets to make everything clickable on the Timeline. The Timelines will allow for rich media such as inline images and video to name a few features.

The developers say that they will be constantly updating the app with new features and bug kills. You can install Carbon for Android by clicking on the sourcelink.
