Samsung Korea reveals Jelly Bean update for Samsung Galaxy S II

Yeah, you used to tote around the greatest Android phone ever built. But that was more than two years ago and as you enviously eye your pal's Samsung Galaxy S III, the Samsung Galaxy S II nesting in your back pocket is feeling mighty old. But here is some news that might cheer you up. The Samsung Korea website now shows support pages for the Jelly Bean update for the Samsung Galaxy S II. The pages list the name of the three local carriers, but don't show any schedule as to when the update will be available, which will be through Kies according to the site.

Samsung Korea says Android 4.1 is coming to the Samsung Galaxy S II
Besides the usual fun and games that go along with Android 4.1, including Project Butter and Google Now, the update brings Google+, +Talk, Google Play Movie and Google Play Book to the model. Pop-up play will be added to the Galaxy S II, possibly alleviating some of your jealousy, and the camera will be improved as well, allowing you to pause while recording.

Eventually the update will be rolled out and should include U.S. carrier branded versions as well. And for those with the Samsung Galaxy S III walking around like their phone is "all that," it won't be too long until you're in the same position, envious of your pal's Samsung Galaxy S IV.
