International version of Nokia Lumia 920 and Nokia Lumia 820 get updated

The international version of both the Nokia Lumia 920 and Nokia Lumia 820 are starting to receive the Portico update that has already made its way through the U.S. The update includes a fix for the camera which has been spitting out blurry photos, even in daylight. The update also brings the "always-on" feature for Wi-Fi and allows users to ignore and reject a phone call while sending an SMS message to the caller. Other improvements make Bluetooth connectivity more reliable, offer better battery management, and help fix a problem that would make the phone freeze and reboot. Internet Explorer also will show some improvements following the installation of the Portico update.

The Portico update is rolling out for the international version of the Nokia Lumia 920 and Nokia Lumia 820

Usually the unlocked variant of a phone model gets updated first, but Nokia did things in reverse with this update, which officially is called the PR1.1. If you're just purchasing the high-end Nokia Lumia 920 or the mid-range Nokia Lumia 820, the device could be coming with the update already installed. Check to make sure that the O.S. version number reads 8.0.10211.204. As we told you the other day, phones purchased from Dutch retailer KPN are coming with the update already installed out of the box. 

Nokia suggests that the phone on your battery be fully charged when downloading the update and that you be on a Wi-Fi network. The whole process takes about 30 minutes. The update is being sent out OTA and Nokia says it will take until the end of next month to complete.
