Today's speculation comes only days after we talked about the possibility of the Sony C660X "Yuga" being called the Xperia Z. And even though these two rumors are far from confirmed, who knows, they could very well be on the right track. Word on the street has it that the Yuga and the Odin are more or less identical, with one of them being tailored for the U.S., while the other meant to be offered in other markets.
For those who need a refresher, here are some specs to drool on. Both the Sony Xperia X and Xperia Z come with 5-inch 1080p screens (1920 by 1080 pixels) enhanced by the maker's BRAVIA engine. Inside them is said to be ticking a 1.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro system-on-a-chip alongside 2GB of RAM and 32GB of native storage. As expected, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean comes out of the box.
The Sony Xperia X and Xperia Z are expected to be announced during CES 2013, which is scheduled to begin on January 8. Should Sony choose to unveil its latest and greatest smartphones at a later date, an announcement during MWC in February seems plausible.
