The Pebble smartwatch is an e-paper watch that from the get-go continued to set records on Kickstarter. The watch hit its $100,000 funding target in just two hours. In 28 hours, the pledges hit $1 million and kept going. By May, all 85,000 units were sold out and the pledges had hit $10 million. Originally set to be delivered in September, the watch was delayed. On Friday, those who ordered the Pebble smartwatch received an e-card with a poem that once again said the product was being delayed. The take off on "The Night before Christmas" is followed by the comment that "Your Pebble is coming soon".

There was some good news announced today. The Pebble will work with the SMS on the Apple iPhone. Text and iMessages meant for the Apple iPhone and Apple iPod touch will be able to be read on the watch. When paired with a mobile device, alarms, message alerts and notifications can be displayed. The watch is 50mm x 30mm and is in a waterproof body. 22mm watch bands are compatible with the Pebble smartwatch. Final colors were announced. Those who ordered the device can choose from white, black, red, grey, and orange. To select a color, those who have placed an order can head to their accounts page and make a selection as long as it is done before December 14th.

The delay will prevent those who ordered the Pebble smartwatch from receiving it in time for the holidays.
