One Direction Top Wonder Girls List Of Dream Collaborators

One Direction

'They seem like they're really fun and goofy,' Korean pop group tells MTV News about 1D.

There's no question 2012 has been a huge year for One Direction. From selling out Madison Square Garden to being named MTV's Best Artist of the Year, the past 12 months have been monumental for Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson.
So it's no surprise moving into 2013 that the Korean pop stars Wonder Girls have expressed some interest in joining forces with the fivesome.

Will Wonder Girls Collaborate With One Direction?

"I first heard the song 'What Makes You Beautiful' on the radio," Lim from the group told MTV News. "I thought that it was very fun and catchy and the lyrics were very good, especially for young girls, and they seem like they're really fun and goofy."
If the new year brings the two groups together, it wouldn't be the Wonder Girls' first time teaming up with a boy band. The group opened up more than 50 North American shows for the Jonas Brothers back in 2009.
And while the guys from 1D sit on top of the girls' wish list of names, they're more than open to working with some ladies as well. "There are a lot of artists we'd love to collaborate with," Wonder Girls member Sun replied. "Like Beyoncé, we love her."
While both Rihanna ("She's very trendy so it would be cool," Sohee said) and Katy Perry ("If we had something like 'Last Friday Night,' "Yenny added) came up in conversation, one name that surprisingly didn't make the Wonder Girls' dream cut was fellow K-pop phenomenon Psy. That, however, didn't stop the girls from gushing over the YouTube sensation.
"Psy was a huge star back in Korea," Yenny explained. "We grew up listening to him, so we're very glad he's becoming huge here and all over the world."
The girls say they're "really proud and delighted" not only about the "Gangnam Style" singer's accomplishments but their and other Korean artists' success in the U.S. as well. "I think people are really interested in new styles and new things," Sun said.
