Back in October, a listing on the website of China's Huawei mentioned a new phone called the Huawei Ascend Mate
. The device was listed with a 6.1 inch display, a full half inch larger than the screen on the Samsung GALAXY Note II
, and featured resolution of 1080 x 1920. On Wednesday, the handset manufacturer's Senior Vice President Yu Chengdong confirmed that such a device is on the way. While he wouldn't reveal any specs, including screen size, Chendong did call the Samsung GALAXY Note II "grossly overpriced"and told those looking to buy Samsung's phablet to hold off until Huawei releases its device. Chengdong promises his phablet will be cheaper and will outperform the GALAXY Note II. So how long is Huawei's Senior VP asking you to refrain from purchasing Samsung's latest phablet for? Not that long, according to Chendong who says his model will launch early next year.
