Flickr getting into the act, will offer 12 photo filters with newly re-designed app for the Apple iPhone

New filters for the Apple iPhone version of the Flickr app

With Instagram adding a new photo filter (Willow) the other day, and Twitter starting up 8 filters of its own, it almost seems natural to expect photo sharing app Flickr to add filters of its own. The 16 new filters are available on the Apple iPhone version of its app. The redesigned Flickr has some new features in addition to the filters. The app can now be accessed using other accounts including Facebook or Google. Photos can be shared to Tumblr, Facebook, Twitter or via email.

The app is free on the Apple App Store, but those using the Apple iPad need to be warned. There is no version released that is optimized for the Apple iPad, at least for now. The redesigned app has a easier sign-up and registration process and now offers full Groups capabilities. 

The filters battle is now on between Instagram, Twitter and now Flickr (iPhone only).
