The new SDK features support for native logins, and a new option to allow users to authorize permissions without leaving the app, making it a much faster process. There are also updates to take advantage of the Open Graph to allow people to tag their friends or find friends who have installed the app, show nearby places with customizable locations, and display a user’s Facebook profile picture for any object, including people, places, and things.
Facebook has also added better API calls, like “strongly-typed callbacks” and built-in helpers for things like posting photos. There is also now support for batch API calls, which should help make apps faster.
Some people were saying that the new native Facebook app for Android had broken integration with some apps, so perhaps this new SDK will help fix the troubles.
