Apple talking to Sharp about using IGZO displays on next Apple iPhone and Apple iPad

Is there an Apple iPhone 5S coming?
Is there an Apple iPhone 5S coming?
Nearly a year ago to the day, rumors starting spreading that the third-generation Apple iPad would use IGZO display technology from Sharp. Less than two weeks later, the kibosh was put on that idea after word came out that Sharp could not pass Apple's strict approval process for mass production. Now, the rumors about Apple using Sharo's IGZO display are back.

The screens are made of indiumgallium and zinc oxide and are thinner. It seems that Sharp has improved its yield as the company recently introduced its own mobile products with IGZO displays in Japan. But Apple being Apple, it is not going to take things for granted. The Cupertino based firm has spoken with its display partner AU Optronics to see if its L5C line could be used to make the IGZO displays. Additionally, Taiwan based Innolux recently was granted a license to make IGZO panels which could put it in the running as well.

There is speculation that Apple will turn to a shorter product cycle meaning we could see a June launch for the rumored Apple iPhone 5S, and the fifth-generation Apple iPad. There is also talk of a new Apple iPad mini with improved processor and a screen with a higher pixel density.
