ADELE has reportedly trademarked her name. The singer took the decision in order to prevent people from misusing her name on products, The Sun reports. A source revealed: “She doesn’t want anyone exploiting her name by using it on products which may trick punters into thinking she’s involved with it.” The ‘Someone Like You’ singer wants to avoid her name being used on unofficial items such as perfume and jewellery. The move makes it easier for the 24-year-old to take legal action against companies who use her name as a way of tempting fans to buy their products. Adele gave birth to her first child in October and was named Billboard’s top artist for the second consecutive year, while her second LP 21 was also named the top album. BeyoncĂ© and Jay-Z attempted to trademark the name of their daughter Blue Ivy in October. The couple reportedly wanted to launch their own line of baby products, but their application was unsuccessful.
