SOUL singer Adele recorded Golden Globe-nominated Bond theme Skyfall in just 10 minutes.
The Rolling in the Deep hitmaker was approached by music producer Paul Epworth to sing the theme earlier this year and on Thursday it picked up a nod for Best Original Song by Hollywood Foreign Press Association officials behind the Globes.
The track is also among the tunes on the latest Oscars Best Song shortlist.
Recalling the birth of the track, Epworth tells Hollywood.com, “(The movie producers) said they wanted a dramatic ballad basically... and I rang her (Adele) up and said, ‘It might be too dark’. And she said she loved it.”
The pair then headed into the studio and the songwriter reveals Adele laid down the vocals in the blink of an eye.
He continues, “Within 10 minutes, she put down most of the vocals. She had the lyrics ready in her head when she drove over. It was the most absurd thing. She’s fast, but it was really quite phenomenal.
And Epworth admits he was stunned when his friend and collaborator conjured up the essence of Shirley Bassey’s past Bond themes in the studio.
