Whenever we bring you news about Acer, it is usually something related to the company's Android tablets – the announcement of a new model, or the launch of a software update, for example. However, the Taiwanese electronics manufacturer has several noteworthy Android handsets too, including the Acer CloudMobile, which we reviewed not long ago. And now it looks like a new model is bound to join the lineup soon – the Acer V360, photos of which just surfaced on a Chinese web site.
The Acer V360 is clearly shaping up like a mid-range model, judging by its leaked hardware specs. It has a 4.5-inch display with qHD resolution (540 by 960 pixels). We also know that it has a dual-core processor running at 1GHz, but its make and model are not yet known. The source of today's rumors says that a 5-megapixel camera is on the smartphone's back and a VGA front-facing cam is located above its screen. The unit itself weighs 140 grams and measures 132 by 68.5 by 9.9 millimeters. Last but not least, Android 4.1.1 should come out of the box.
If the source of the images is to be trusted, the Acer V360 should retail for about $300 off contract, but the exact figure might change by the time the device hits the shelves. When it is scheduled to launch is, unfortunately, not yet known.
