Since taking photos is what people do most with their smartphones, it comes as no surprise that accessory makers come up with all sorts of products
meant to take the experience to the next level. Few, however, have
dared to go as far as will.i.am did by launching his i.am+ series of
iPhone peripherals.
At an official event in
London, the popular musician and entrepreneur presented the i.am+
foto.sosho (yes, that's really what it's called), which is supposed to "turbo charge"
your iPhone's camera. In fact, the accessory replaces the stock snapper
entirely with a 14-megapixel camera module and superior flash.
Several
foto.sosho models will be launched, and the C.4 is the most affordable
in the bunch. Priced at £199, it is compatible with the iPhone 4 or iPhone 4S
and comes with a set of interchangeable lenses: fish-eye, wide-angle,
5x zoom, and a standard one. The V.4 model, which costs £299, offers all
of the above, but also adds a slide-out QWERTY keyboard with a
backlight. Those who have the iPhone 5
can get the C.5 and V.5 models instead. On the software side of things,
all foto.sosho variants can be used in conjunction with a dedicated
app, which offers filters and tools for quick and easy photo editing.
The
iPhone 4S-compatible i.am+ foto.sosho models will hit the stores on
December 6. iPhone 5 owners, however, will have to wait until 2013 for
the C.5 and V.5 to be released.
