A VIOLINIST has been named the quickest man on the planet.
Ben Lee, from Eastbourne, East Sussex, averaged 15 notes a second on his electric violin while playing ‘Flight of the Bumblebee’ last night (November 14).
Scientists then measured his speed against various other world record holders, before the 32-year-old was also declared the world’s fastest ‘superhuman’. He edged the likes of base jumper Frode Johannessen, speed eater Pete Czerwinski and shooter Jerry Miculek.
Lee said: “It’s taken tens of thousands of hours of practice to reach this speed. “I’ve been challenging myself to play as fast as I can since I was five. I can only get faster from here.”
Czerwinski took 34 seconds to eat a 12-inch pizza in 34 seconds, while Miculek needed 1.06 seconds to fire eight rounds at four targets. Lee is part of a two-piece violin band FUSE with Linzi Stoppard.
