A method has already been devised to modify your phone so it comes across as coming from another carrier, allowing the HTCDev unlocked bootloader tools to work.

You will need some tools like a hammer and an anvil Android Debug Bridge, or ADB that will support backup and restoration of Android 4.0 or higher. You will also need 1GB of free space on your HTC DROID DNA to make this work.
