We’ve already heard about and seen what we believe is the upcoming Sony Xperia C650X Odin, the company’s next Android flagship, and now the official press render seems to have leaked out corroborating all previous rumors.
The Xperia Odin is expected to join the army of 5-inch 1080p phones and it brings a very thing bezel and elegant design to the game. If we had to look for similarities, it resembles closely Sony’s own Xperia X2 with subtle dragon-shaped forms.
It’s really all about the display, though. The 5-inch screen should end up with a pixel density of the whopping 440ppi, making single pixels indiscernible for the human eye.
Powering up that many pixels, the Sony Xperia Odin is said to feature a quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro chip with Krait cores clocked at 1.5GHz. As per rumors, it sports 2GB of RAM and 32 gigs of internal storage.
Interestingly enough, Sony is said to bump up the camera to 13-megapixels, following a certain trend that we saw in the LG Optimus G. Raising the number of megapixels seems to be more of a marketing move nowadays, but hopefully with it, we’d also see improved image quality. Let’s not forget that raising the megapixels is not a magical spell and won’t alone improve the actual quality of the picture.
Overall, though, we’re thrilled with the exquisite looks of the Xperia Odin, and we can’t wait to see it official. That’s expected to happen in around two months at January’s Consumer Electronics Show 2013, stay tuned.
