According to an anonymous tipster, Samsung is about to sprinkle several members of its Galaxy lineup with a dash of color. There are two smartphones bound to be given a makeover, namely the Samsung Galaxy Note II and the Samsung Galaxy S III mini, the source claims.
The Galaxy Note II, which is currently available in either titanium gray or marble white, will also come in Amber Brown, Topaz Blue and Ruby Wine. Units sporting the new hues are planned to go on sale next year. Three new color variants of the Galaxy S III mini are being planned as well. These include Titan Gray, Garnet Red and Onyx Black. If the source is to be trusted, the new variants will be on the market before the year's end, or in Q1 of 2013 at the latest.
Now, we have to highlight the fact that this is just a rumor, but it seems like a quite plausible one to us. The Samsung Galaxy S III, for example, launched in two colors only, yet new options were introduced several months later. If the above rumor holds water, the new color variants should be on display at MWC2013 in Barcelona.
