Rumor: HTC Deluxe render leaks, showing off global version of the HTC DROID DNA

HTC Deluxe render leaks, showing off global version of the HTC DROID DNAThanks to a tweet from evleaks, we have a render of the HTC Deluxe. If the name sounds familiar, it is because at one time, this was the name that was applied to the HTC DROID DNA before the 5 inch phablet was given the scientific moniker by Verizon. And if the picture looks familiar, well, that's because the HTC Deluxe IS the HTC DROID DNA. The only difference is that because of the licensing deal with Lucasfilm, the DROID name can only be used at Verizon. As you might recall, in Japan the device is known as the HTC Butterfly J.

No matter what you call it, the phablet offers a 5 inch screen with resolution of 1080 x 1920 resulting in a pixel density of 441ppi. Besides using the HTC Deluxe name overseas, the handset will also be given the name in Canada. It is similar to what Motorola did with the Motorola DROID which was given the Motorola MILESTONE name in other parts of the world.

Can the HTC DROID DNA/Butterfly J/Deluxe give the Samsung GALAXY Note II a run for its money? The pixel density on the latter is a more down to earth 265ppi, but the screen is a half inch larger. In addition, the Samsung GALAXY Note II has a 3100mAh battery compared to the 2020mAh cell on the HTC model, which reminds us of something our Momma once told us. No matter how many pixels per inch your device has, if the battery is dead, the screen is worthless.
