Rihanna crowned queen of the carnival

RIHANNA has celebrated Halloween by being crowned West Hollywood’s queen of the carnival.

The city chose the singer for the honour ahead of the start of its celebrated festivities, now in their 25th year, at a ceremony held at the Greystone Manor Supperclub. Rihanna appeared in an apparently demure black outfit as she arrived at the awards ceremony. As well as a sparkling crystal crown, the 24-year-old Diamonds star was also given the key to the city by the mayor of West Hollywood.

After the ceremony, Rihanna posed cheekily for photographers on the red carpet before attending the carnival along West Hollywood’s Santa Monica Boulevard. The singer recently announced plans for a whirlwind mini tour ahead of the release of her latest album, performing seven ‘intimate’ gigs in seven night in seven different countries - including, it is believed, the UK. The 777 Tour, during which Rihanna and her entourage are reportedly to be transported in a private Boeing 777, is due to kick off on November 14, but no other details have yet been released. Her latest album, Apologetic, is her seventh album in seven years.
