Believe it or not, kids, there was a time when our parents and grandparents used phones that relied on wires in order to make calls possible. These phones were anything but portable and one couldn't even send text messages on them. They also looked a bit like this smartphone dock by Pyle audio, which hooks up to a landline, but can also work with a docked handset at the press of a button.
This retro smartphone docking station is hand-made out of wood and features brushed copper elements, so it looks antique, yet elegant at the same time. It can work as a stationary phone, but a press of a button will allow you to place or answer calls via the docked device. Although an iPhone is being used in the image you see here, Pyle reassures us that any phone with a 3.5-millimeter headphone jack should work with the dock.
In case you want to get one of these, keep an eye out for them online as Pyle will start shipping them today. There are 4 phone variants available, priced between $90 and $110.
