Nokia allegedly scored 2.5 million Lumia 920 orders, its design chief talks shop about the chassis (video)

Yahoo China mentioned nonchalantly in a report about the launch of the Lumia 920 in China, that Nokia has so far received 2.5 million orders for the device, which is a pretty big number for a handset that's been out for just a couple of weeks.

They say that the device is being sold out in places like Germany, Australia, even the US, and if Amazon's "out of stock" sign for the cyan and yellow version is any indication, they might be correct.

Long before this report, Wall Street wise guys like Goldman Sachs have apparently been backing up the truck in the last few days to load on Nokia's beaten shares, sending the stock price soaring more than 30% since last week. 

As usual, Wall Street is frontrunning everybody, but even if the big boys hadn't come into play, the unique features of the Lumia 920 were certain to make it a relative success, and not only because of Nokia fans nostalgia, but since the phone is offering innovations no other handset currently has.

Nokia's chief of design Marko Ahtisaari, often referred to as "Nokia's Jony Ive", took to the YouTubes yesterday, and explained how the design process for the Lumia 920 went to make the chubby handset stand out in terms of looks, too.
