The HTC DROID DNA at one time was being addressed as the HTC Deluxe or DLX. As it turns out, it looked like the name was going to be applied to an international version of the phablet and a couple of renders added to that expectation. But now, directly from HTC, comes word that the 5 inch phablet and its 441ppi pixel density might not even see the light of day in Europe.
A person interested in buying the HTC Deluxe DLX posted on the Taiwan based manufacturer's German Facebook page, a link to one of the evleaks renders of the device. HTC responded by saying that the beast "will unfortunately not come to Europe." Which then begs the question, where in the world is Carmen Sandiego will the HTC Deluxe DLX hang its coat? Or maybe the 5 incher never goes anywhere else than the U.S. or Japan. In the latter country, the model is known as the HTC J Butterfly, a totally perfect moniker for that market.
We feel bad for those Europeans who won't get a shot at that 5 inch 1080p screen, and as far as where the HTC Deluxe DLX ends up, it could be that we will see this hit the rest of Asia or perhaps it is intended fornon-Verizon carriers in the states. That thought should warm the cockles of many a heart in the U.S. as the post holiday work week looms.
